Voiding & Re-approving

If an approval was made in error, you can void it — but a voided estimate stays dead. To "re-approve" the same scope, duplicate the estimate first.

Voiding an Approval

1. Open the Generate Estimate modal on the project.
2. In the dropdown, pick the estimate that's currently [APPROVED].
3. Click Void Approval.

Three things happen immediately:

• The Contract is torn down — the project's contract baseline is gone.
• The version flips back to Draft, and line items become editable again.
• If you'd previously shared a public signed URL for the estimate, that link now returns "no longer valid" to anyone who opens it.

The Voided Estimate Stays Dead

Once an estimate has been voided, it's permanently in a [VOIDED] state. You cannot re-approve it. This is intentional — re-approving a voided estimate would mean a customer holding the old public URL could suddenly see a previously-dead estimate come back to life, which is the opposite of what voiding is for.

Re-approving the Same Scope

If you voided by mistake (or the customer changed their mind back), here's how to get the same scope re-approved:

1. Open the Generate Estimate modal.
2. Pick the voided estimate from the dropdown.
3. Click Duplicate as new. This creates a fresh saved estimate with the same line items and totals.
4. Approve the duplicate normally.

The duplicate gets its own new public URL when you share it. The old voided URL stays dead. A customer who got the original link gets a clean signal that the original is no longer in play, and they get a fresh link for the re-approved version.
