Drawing Set Publisher

Generate professional PDF drawing sets combining cover sheets, floor plans, sheets, and schematics into a single deliverable package.

Professional Output

Drawing sets follow industry standards with D-size (36"x24") sheets, consistent title blocks, and automatic sheet numbering.

Accessing the Publisher

  1. Open a project from the Projects list
  2. Click the Publish Drawing Set button in the project toolbar
  3. Configure your drawing set options
  4. Click Publish PDF or Download ZIP

Drawing Set Contents

A complete drawing set can include the following sheet types:

Cover Sheet

  • Title: Defaults to client company name (BillToCompany), or project name if not set
  • Subtitle: Job site address
  • Client Logo: Upload in Edit Project under Client Billing section
  • Design Firm Logo: From Organization Settings

Drawing Index

Auto-generated table of contents listing all drawings with sheet numbers and descriptions.

Notes & Legends

  • General Notes: Legal disclaimers and project-wide notes
  • Construction Notes: Technical requirements for installers
  • Custom Notes: Project-specific information
  • Cable Type Legend: The cable colors used on the set's schematic sheets; see Cable Colors

Floor Plans

One set of plan pages per floor, titled by the floor's name: a Floor Plan page, a Ceiling Plan page when the floor has ceiling data, and an Electrical page whenever the floor has saved drawing data of any kind, not only electrical objects. Each page renders the floor's current objects, measurements and annotations from Drawing Measure. On a project carried over from the old per-room drawings, a "floor" here is a former drawing room, and its plan pages are named after that room.

Sheets

One Sheet page per sheet you've built in Drawing Measure, printed exactly as composed there — its viewports, wall elevations and rack frames — at D size. If a sheet references a floor that can't be loaded (deleted, or its image failed to download), that viewport and any wall-elevation frame depending on it print a grey "Missing floorplan" box instead of guessing which floor to show.

A rack frame prints the real rack, as it is in the Rack Builder at the moment you publish. The drawing is the same one Measure's Export Sheet prints. A rack that was deleted, or is no longer part of this project, prints a grey Missing rack box with a red border. Your other racks print normally.

Schematics

Signal flow diagrams from room or project-level schematics. Automatically splits large diagrams across multiple pages.

Configuration Options

Drawing Prefix

Set the prefix that starts every drawing number. The default is TA: the cover sheet is TA-000, floor plan pages count up from TA-100, schematics from TA-200, and Sheet pages from TA-300. Change it to AV and those become AV-000, AV-100, AV-200 and AV-300.

Sheet Numbering

The Configuration card's series row sets where each page type starts counting: Floor Plans Start, Schematics Start, and Sheets Start (previously labeled Elevations Start) for Sheet pages. Change a box, then click Auto-Number to renumber the affected pages from it.

Cover Sheet Content

Field Default Description
Title Client company name Main heading on cover sheet
Subtitle Job site address Secondary text below title

Notes

Each note section can be customized or left at default values. Notes appear on the Notes & Legends sheet.

Title Block

Every sheet includes a professional title block on the right side containing:

  • Design Firm: Logo, company name, address, phone, website
  • Client Info: Client name, project name, job site address
  • Drawing Info: Sheet title, drawing type, status
  • Attribution: Drawn by, checked by, date, scale
  • Sheet Number: Auto-generated based on drawing order

Managing Drawings

Keeping the List in Sync

Floor plans, sheets and schematics aren't added one at a time — the publisher builds them from your project automatically. Opening the page re-syncs the list: it keeps your existing plan pages (custom title, unticked state, and position) and points them at their current floor, refreshes sheet names, adds any new floors or sheets, and removes plan and sheet pages whose floor or sheet no longer exists.

Refresh, in the Drawing Order card, rebuilds your floor plan, sheet and schematic pages from what's in your project right now — the way to pick up a change without leaving this page. Unlike reopening the publisher, it rebuilds those pages from scratch, so any custom title or unticked state you set on one of them is cleared. Template pages you added keep their settings either way.

Sheets or racks couldn't be read

If your project's Measure sheets can't be read when you publish, that PDF or ZIP is built without its Sheet pages, and a warning appears at the top of the Drawing Order card. The warning shows up when you publish, not when you open the page.

Don't click Refresh while this is happening. Refresh can't read the sheets either, so it deletes every Sheet page from the list, along with any custom title you gave one. Wait until the sheet data is fixed, then publish again. Reopening the publisher in the meantime keeps your Sheet pages as they are.

A rack whose saved layout can't be read is handled differently. Its Sheet pages are still published. That rack prints as a grey Missing rack box, and your other racks print normally. A separate warning at the top of the Drawing Order card names each such rack, for example Boardroom - BCR-R1. It appears during or after the publish.

Reordering

Drag and drop drawings in the list to change their order. Sheet numbers update automatically.

Removing Pages

Only template pages you added yourself carry a trash icon — click it to remove that page. A floor's or sheet's page goes away once you delete that floor or sheet in Drawing Measure: reopening the publisher or clicking Refresh drops it from the list. A schematic page works differently — reopening the publisher never removes one on its own, even after its schematic is gone. It's dropped only when you click Refresh after clearing the room's schematic or archiving the room. Template pages seeded from your title block can't be removed here either — they follow the title block template.

Output Formats

Stay on the page while it builds

Navigating away while a PDF or ZIP is being built cancels that run, and nothing downloads. Wait for the download to finish before leaving the page.

Combined PDF

Single PDF file containing all drawings in sequence. Best for digital distribution and printing.

ZIP Archive

Individual PDF files for each sheet, packaged in a ZIP. Useful when sheets need to be distributed separately.

Best Practices

  • Complete Project Info: Fill in client company name and job site address in Edit Project for automatic cover sheet population
  • Upload Client Logo: Add client logo in Edit Project → Client Billing section for branded cover sheets
  • Calibrate Floor Plans: Ensure floor plans have measurements calibrated in Drawing Measure before including
  • Save Schematics: Save schematic canvases before publishing to include latest changes
  • Review Sheet Order: Arrange drawings in logical order (cover → index → notes → floor plans → sheets → schematics)

Troubleshooting

Floor Plan Shows Placeholder

The floor plan image and data haven't been saved. Open Drawing Measure, upload or link the floor plan, and save.

Schematic Missing Devices

Ensure the schematic canvas has been saved. Open Schematics and click Save before publishing.

Logo Not Appearing

Check that your organization logo is uploaded in Settings → Organization. For client logos, upload in Edit Project under Client Billing.
